SKIL 3601-02 Flooring Saw with 36T Contractor Blade makes the job of cutting easier and more convenient. We were very impressed with the quality and ease of use. If you are doing many projects and you need to do the floor cutting as efficient as possible, then the SKIL 3601-02 Flooring Saw with 36T Contractor Blade is for you. We have tried our cutting skills even on 5/16" real hardwood Bruce flooring. Worked great.
SKIL 3601-02 Flooring Saw: Great idea for a tool, impressive.
We saw it also as a one-purpose tool that a homeowner will use once and then probably sell off as they won't have a future need for it as it takes up a lot of space.
We found cutting angles is easy on flooring because it is flat and you can flip it over to get the angle the other direction. But if you hoped to cut angles on molding you can only do it one direction because one side of molding is curved so you can't flip it over and get it flat. It was never intended for molding as for angles and can only rip laminate along one side (not reversible and not enough clearance for wide boards) Also we needed a ShopVac for cuttings as we had reduce the dust. We were able to do a 1000 sq ft floor with one blade easily and it cuts flooring like butter when new, with very clean, square edges. You should consider buying a second (better) blade before starting your job with the SKIL 3601-02 Flooring Saw with 36T Contractor Blade to make sure it wouldn't rip up the flooring as it has a lot of power for such a small saw.
Teams opinion: The blade is the only setback here but otherwise its a true alternative to one of the laminate cutters mentioned above.
